Looking back on a busy 2018

Supporting you, wherever you are in the world - we look back on a busy 2018


Knowing a large majority of the year was to be spent wearing the coveted AV Awards Manufacturer of the Year crown, we had no intention of resting on our 2017 laurels. Indeed, 2018 has been the busiest year in the company’s history; with more events worldwide than ever before, expansion programmes at B-Tech locations all around the globe and increased investment into RnD, B-Tech ends the year with an extremely positive outlook for 2019 and plenty of exciting product launches on the horizon. 

Here, we reflect on an enormously successful 12 months, culminating with a series of key appointments to our senior management team that sees us well prepared for the year ahead:


January

The year began with the appointment of Nico Koets to our Benelux team. Based in the Netherlands, Nico has been a key component of our growth in the region. January also saw the introduction of our new, product-packed, catalogue - available in both hard copy format and online.

February

As always, February is dominated by ISE - now the biggest Audio Visual exhibition in the world. Proudly boasting our Manufacturer of the Year credentials, B-Tech enjoyed our 13th attendance with our biggest and most ambitious stand to date. The result was a constantly busy stand, with the industry now recognising B-Tech as a key player alongside the world’s leading brackets companies. Will we be able to raise the bar further for 2019? You’ll just have to wait and see!

Our first new product launch of the year; the BT893, comes to market. This heavy duty projector mount has been designed by our in-house engineers and is suitable for today’s live event and staging applications, as well as large scale projection mapping use. What’s more, the BT893 has been developed with input from some of the world’s largest projection manufacturers to ensure hassle free, secure mounting.

April

April saw our show teams in action once again as we exhibited in Beijing at InfoComm China, helping to reinforce our footprint in this thriving territory.

May

Fresh from China, the trade shows continue as our UK team descended on London for the Retail Digital Signage Expo at Olympia. B-Tech mounts are used in some of the most prestigious shopping malls and retail outlets around the world and it proved to be a great opportunity to reinforce industry relationships and show our latest mounting solutions to retail decision makers, first-hand.

June

One of the busiest months of the year, June began with the launch of B-Tech Americas at InfoComm Las Vegas where we exhibited for the first time. It proved to be a hugely encouraging show as integrators appreciated the little differences that have seen B-Tech become the ‘go-to’ choice for so many integrators. Although B-Tech has enjoyed sales in the US and Canada for nearly 30 years via distribution companies and OEM partners, we decided to extend our global footprint by launching B-Tech Americas to serve North, Central and South America. Providing a refreshing choice to the established AV mount ‘giants’ in the US, B-Tech now serves these territories with local stock and fast, hassle-free turnaround times.

Hot on the heels of InfoComm 2018 was Digital Signage Japan. Hosted in Tokyo, the event was another great opportunity to establish B-Tech’s growing reputation in the region.

Mid-June hosted our annual Golf Invitational at Colingtree Park Golf Club, where we welcomed our valued partners and fellow manufacturers for a great day of fun and healthy competition!

The NXTAsia Expo in Singapore fitted nicely into our lasts days of June, before the July/Aug 'off-season' arrived to give our teams a chance to turn their attentions to other projects.

July

Curve appeal comes to the B-Tech range as we launch a new range of curved kits for videowalls and menu boards. With our newly engineered Angle Adjustment Connector, creative, curved installations are now easily managed with versatile mounting options including freestanding, mobile, ceiling (with poles) and bolt down.

August

We joined one of our key customers, TVC, raising money for Bolton Wanderers Community Trust with a fun and highly enjoyable golf day. Keeping in the swing of things, we were then invited to another August golf day by integrator Saturn AV, raising money for Mencap. It’s not all work and no play!

September

Back on the exhibition circuit, and B-Tech returned to Mercedes-Benz World for the popular annual Midwich Tech Exposed event. The dust had barely settled on that show before we were exhibiting again in Mumbai for InfoComm India. The Indian sub-continent is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and it was great to see our latest products so well received in this vibrant, fantastic country as we returned for our second year.

September also saw us go live with our latest online mount founder tool - making it easy for integrators to specify the right solution for single screens. New product launches; the BT8308 and BT8309 - were also introduced to the market, giving integrators pop-out convenience and B-Tech’s renowned reliability and convenience when mounting smaller screens.

October

Onto Moscow, as we join one of our main distribution partners in the region, Tegratech, for Integrated Systems Russia. The show is the only exhibition covering pro AV in Russia and CIS countries and we were delighted to leave Moscow with some superb leads and new connections.

November

Continuing a busy year of trade exhibitions, we enjoyed three days at the BITAM Show in Madrid. Covering broadcast and associated technologies, we displayed a wide range of B-Tech hardware, including solutions for videowalls, trolleys, digital menu boards and projection. We also welcomed a key new addition to the B-Tech Iberia team as Enrique Rebollar Fernández joined the B-Tech family as Sales Manager for central Spain.

December

To finish off a fantastic year, we returned to Dubai for the HITEC 2018. Dubai is well-known for its state-of-the-art hospitality technology and this show proved to be the ideal exhibition to show our product range to decision makers in the hotel and leisure sector.

And Finally...

To improve our global position, B-Tech made some big appointments towards the end of the year. We were delighted to welcome Tom Meylink as our new Director of Sales (Europe) as well as the promotion of Mark Walker to Director of Operations (UK). These appointments will help us to align our international ambitions while providing more dedicated resource to our customers. As the year ahead unfolds, we will continue to adapt and appoint where needed, so watch this space!

We are always mindful that our continued growth comes with an enormous team effort. From our designers and engineers, through to our marketing department, sales and back office teams, we continue to drive success in established territories, while opening doors to new opportunities.
