Easier said than done! I am continually astounded by the team we have and cannot help but keep on writing superlatives on what has been achieved by this fantastic company. And this time is no different. We entered 2022 on the back of a record year for B-Tech in 2021, particularly in terms of growth and revenue, with a fair degree of uncertainty about howwe could possibly top what had just been achieved. 2022 was always going to be significant for B-Tech, given that it was our 50th Anniversary. However, as much as one should take the opportunity to reflect on our history and how far we have come, I did not want this to be a distraction in planning for the future. How could we improve?What could we be doing better? How much further could we take B-Tech? What opportunities lay out there? The answer proved to be quite interesting… In terms of revenue in 2022, we exceeded expectations in all of our “home markets”. In the UK, we continued to go from strength to strength, continuing our double-digit annual growth. Not to be outdone, this was also achieved in Europe with particularly strong results in our European “home markets”, namely in Germany, Spain and the Benelux region. To support this growth, we expanded our European HQ in Belgium by a third, including opening a fantastic new showroom and training centre. Our decision to expand further into North America proved to be justified with very encouraging growth and increased brand recognition. Likewise, the hard work in growing our brand in the Middle East and India also resulted in remarkable growth with involvement in fantastic projects. Despite some very challenging conditions in Asia, we have continued to grow in the APAC region, particularly in our “home markets” of Korea and Singapore. Whilst we have continued to develop our global footprint, we have striven to maintain our core values of providing the best possible service, no matter where we are in the world, justifying our motto of “Local Service on a Global Scale”. However, this has only been possible due to the wonderful team that makes B-Tech what it is. I cannot find words good enough to describe the pride I have in the team of “B-Techians”. It is always fantastic to receive feedback from our customers and the industry that echoes this sentiment. It is not just the front-facing sales team that deserves this recognition – it is everyone within B-Tech, whether it be the sales support teams, the product design team that continues to design products that become the industry standards, the marketing teams in being able to represent B-Tech the way they do, the supply chain and logistics teams whether it be from our manufacturing hubs to the local warehousing and distribution centres, to the administration teams at all of our offices that enable this operation to run as well as it does. Without this team, we would be nowhere. This was evident at the various trade shows we participated in over the year, none more so than at the welcome return of ISE, this time taking place in Barcelona. Never have I been so proud of the B-Tech team as I was back at ISE in May. The booth looked outstanding and the multi/international team worked as one, with big smiles on their faces – they could not have represented B-Tech any better than they did and it was the perfect image of B-Tech for our 50th Anniversary. Despite all of this success, we cannot just sit back, relax and pat ourselves on the back. As I mentioned above, we must strain to further ourselves to look at howwe can continue this amazing journey we are all on. How can we improve?What can be done to help take the company and the team of B-Techians, forwards and on to the next level? This next step in our evolution came into existence in October 2022 when, together with our fellow mounting specialists Neomounts (formerly Newstar), the Global Mounts Group was formed. Neomounts, founded in 1996 and based on the outskirts of Amsterdam, have over 25 years of experience providing the European IT and AV industries with their range of monitor mounts, wall and ceiling mounts, trolleys and floor stands. Our two companies, with our experience, our brands, routes to market, globally located operation centres, design teams and manufacturing operations and unparalleled range of mounting solutions, offer the AV industry something special. This next step in our evolution provides B-Tech with a platform to continue this fantastic journey we are on. 12 B-TECH AV MOUNTS DESIGN ETHOS - BETTER BY DESIGN WARRANTY B-Tech professional products are available with a 5-year guarantee as standard (please note there are some exceptions, ask for details), whilst consumer products (those offered in retail packaging) come with a 10-year limited lifetime warranty. The guarantee is against defects in materials and quality and we will replace or credit faulty goods. Guarantee applies to the original owner only,and all installation guidelines must be followed. SUPPLIERS At both our European and Far-East manufacturing facilities, on-site engineers perform thorough product QC checks during and after production. Kaizen and Six Sigma principles are used to ensure constant improvement and efficient manufacturing and planning is fully utilised. Additional stringent quality control checks are then carried out upon delivery to our warehouses. B-Tech products are compliant with European RoHS directives and REACH regulation. DESIGN SAFETY In-line with TUV and UL safety guidelines, B-Tech products are designed, engineered and tested to make sure they function correctly at the maximum stated load and do not fail at 5x the maximum stated load. Our in-house design process includes detailed CAD stress analysis of materials, accelerated durability tests and incline testing on trolleys and floor stands. The highest quality materials are always used according to the requirements, ensuring that no weak materials, sharp edges or inferior fixings are present. Our products carry information to ensure they are used safely by the end user. Product identification, load limits and hazard labels feature on all products. Full pictorial assembly instructions with safety guidelines and technical data are included with all products.
